How to recover your domain name password or EPP code

One of the most common questions we get asked is "How do I find my domain password?". If you've had your domain name for a while, chances are you can no longer remember where the information you received as registration is. Don't stress, domain name password recovery is really quick and easy!

Step 1

The first step is to check the domain name registration details with the AUDA Whois service to confirm you actually do still own the domain name, and to check the registrant email address recorded against the domain name.

Check domain name ownership

Enter your domain name ( without wwww ) in the "Lookup address" field. Then enter the captcha text in the "Control text field"

If the domain is still registered you'll get a result similar to what is shown below. Pay particular attention to the Registrant Contact Email. This will be important for the next step and you will need access to this email address to recover your password.

Step 2

If the registrant details are correct and the registrant email address is an account you still have access to. Click the button below to open the password recovery page in a new tab.

Complete the password recovery form with the name of the domain you want to recover the password for. Your name and complete the captcha challenge.

Step 3

You'll receive an email from AUDA at your registered email address shortly after completing the form. The email will contain a link for you to access your domain password or EPP code.

What happens if I no longer have access to the email address?

If you no longer have access to the email address and need to recover a domain, you will need to formally apply for access. The application will require formal identification, proof of ownership and other supporting information. Please contact us if you find yourself in this situation for futher advice.
